The Founder and Managing Director of REALM Group Australia, Robbie McKenzie from Gippsland/Cobram Victoria, a former dairy/beef farmer himself, knew there was a better way for farmers to buy and sell their livestock, hay, grain and farm equipment more efficiently. Upon inception of the business Robbie started with livestock for many reasons and then grew that into equipment and property sales all online. It took time for a young guy to convince a 60-year-old farmer to sell his cattle or sheep online but once they got the hang of it, away it went, but it didn't happen overnight. The key was great customer service and education. Some of those early clients or their families are still with us today!
Robbie was one of the first sheep and cattle Assessors in Australia working with 'C.A.L.M - Computer Aided Livestock Marketing' and that company is today, Auctions Plus, which is Australia's largest On Line Agricultural Auction Company. Robbie was also the first to run multi vendor machinery auctions on this platform. This was a new concept for the agricultural industry and now it has been adapted by all. In the realisation of REALM Group Australia, Robbie has for over three decades built a great team of people around him all of whom are current farmers or retired farmers, young and old, with untold experience across Australia/New Zealand and the USA.
As a part of this journey, Robbie has been instrumental in formulating strategic alliances and partnerships with the best in the business to offer both traditional and online marketing systems second to none to the end user.
Robbie currently lives between Warragul Victoria and Toowoomba Queensland and has a beef operation in Northern NSW and a beef cattle and Quarter Horse operation in Texas, USA. Robbie now works predominately on the development of the business but still makes the time to visit clients all over Australia and is still involved in Sales. Robbie still likes getting his hands dirty and will jump in on whatever is taking place on the day.
